Have you read Gethsemane: Reflections on the Contemporary Theological Movement by Cardinal Siri and/or Vatican II Revisited: Reflections by One Who Was There by Bishop Aloysius Wycislo? Is Card. Siri's work the best assessment of post-Vatican II theological errors? Viz., is Card. Siri's work reflective of him being to post-Vatican II what Fr. Garrigou-Lagrange was for pre-Vatican II? Cf. this. Thanks |

Alan, I'd like to read Siri's book, but even secondhand it's $80+! |

John Lane wrote: Alan, I'd like to read Siri's book, but even secondhand it's $80+! The prologue of Msgr. Gherardini's recent book, Vatican II: A Much-Needed Discussion (I think that's the English title.), mentions Card. Siri's work alongside Amerio's Iota Unum. I wonder if Iota Unum superseded Gethsemane, and if Msgr. Gherardini's work, being more recent, has in a way superseded all the preceding Vatican II works? From what I have read of it so far, it is very good. |

Having begun this work, I find his treatment of Rahner rather soft… |
